The @Colbybrownphotography IG takeover continues... Located 100 kilometres (62.13 mi) south-west of #Darwin, #Litchfield National Park is a hidden treasure of waterfalls and hikes found in the NT. In this image you can see my friend @TheAnthonycastro doing his best "Blue Steel" pose next to the awe-inspiring Wangi Falls. With an elevation of over 109 yards (84 meters), Wangi consists of a series of segmented waterfalls that range in height between 40-50 metres (43-54 yards). At its base is an amazing plunge pool that is amazing to swim in. #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd

The @Colbybrownphotography IG takeover continues... One of best ways to experience a new location is from the air. The unique perspective it brings can truly be incredible. When I visited #AliceSprings for the first time, I knew I wanted to get up in the air to see the West MacDonnell Ranges. For this I connected with @Outback_Ballooning, who took us up one morning. Luckily for us, the weather was perfect and we were greeted with one of the most amazing sunrises I had seen in a while! #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

Hey everyone! My name is Colby Brown (@colbybrownphotography) and I will be taking over the @ausoutbacknt account for the next week. Last year I spent two weeks exploring some of the most amazing and impressive locations throughout the NT, which I am happy to share a few of them with you here this week. To start, #KataTjuta (#TheOlgas) is one of my favorite sites in the Red Centre. While Uluru often gets most of the attention in the area, Kata Tjuta is equally as impressive and deserves some exploration. It is made up of a series of large rock domes - 36 to be exact - and is considered incredibly sacred to the Aboriginal people. Along with Uluru (located 16 miles/25.7 km away), Kata Tjuta forms a single national park known as Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, which is one of only a few dozen places in the world to have received a dual World Heritage listing.  #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

Date night in the outback! 😍 This sweet set-up was created by @elisecook who road-tripped from #Darwin to #AliceSprings. During Elise's time in the Red Centre she ventured out to the West MacDonnell Ranges and stopped at Ormiston Gorge, an outback oasis home to a permanent freshwater waterhole and epic towering red walls. The West MacDonnell National Park/Tjoritja stretches 161 kilometres west of Alice Springs and is an incredible example of an ancient landscape sculptured over time by the climatic elements. Swimming holes, walking trails and camping are the main highlights of the area and well worth sticking around for a few days to experience. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Elise! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

Flying high over the ancient landscape of #Kakadu National Park 🚁 During the tropical summer heavy rains fall across the region, submerging vast tracts of land and fueling these massive falls. Jim Jim can only be seen at this time from the air 🚁 If you've ventured to the base of the falls over the drier months, it's well worth returning and seeing Jim Jim in full flow! Complete with towering stone escarpments and crazy volumes of water crashing into the gorge below, this is a sight you won't forget in a hurry.  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @bondi_to_broome! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu

If you're travelling through the West MacDonnell Ranges, don't forget to make a stop at Standley Chasm, where the rock appears to have been split by a giant pick-axe! A relatively short and easy drive from #AliceSprings, the chasm cuts through the tough quartzite to form a natural alleyway. It was created by surging flood waters over thousands of years and is an important cultural site for Western Arrernte women. If you're keen to learn more, you can join a half day tour with @angkerlestandleychasm that includes authentic cross-cultural presentations, bush tucker and art workshops. Our tip: visit at noon when the sun is right over head - this is when the chasm really lights up!  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @talman.  #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

Summer holiday goals in #Litchfield National Park 🙌 Fed by twin falls and fringed by shady trees, Florence Falls ranks as one of the park's front runners, particularly as it's swimmable almost year round. Reaching the fall's glistening jade-green swimming hole is half the appeal 👉 the walk is short, easy and showcases the dramatic contrast between mighty sandstone escarpment and lush monsoon forest. An easy day trip from #Darwin, Litchfield may be a fraction of the size of Kakadu National Park, but when it comes to swimming opportunities it packs a serious punch 👌💦 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @backpackerhumpback!  #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd

Cue the #LionKing soundtrack... 😜 No matter how many times you've seen it in photos, nothing comes close to viewing #Uluru in real life. The giant monolith is best seen at dawn and sunset, as the light changes and the rock seems to glow. The national park has five viewing areas dedicated to experiencing and photographing this beautiful scene. Our tip: While Talinguru Nyakunytjaku is the main sunrise viewing area for Uluru, the Kata Tjuta dune viewing area pretty much guarantees you a beautiful shot of the icon with a long lens as @stephan_daprato discovered!  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Stephan. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT #ExploreUluru

Spotted: The seasonal waterfall at Southern Rockhole! This glorious waterfall only flows for a limited time over the wet season - talk about exclusive! The tropical summer gem can be found at Nitmiluk (#Katherine) Gorge, an 8 kilometre (return) walk from the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre, along the Windolf trail (via Yambi walk). If you're not keen on walking, you can choose to swap the hike for a ferry ride, which brings you within 150 metres of the swimming hole and waterfall. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @anaantonovna! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #NitmilukNT
