Break your journey along the Stuart Highway at Tennant Creek and the Barkly Tablelands, known for its million-acre cattle stations, gold mining heritage, iconic rock formations and Aboriginal culture. This is genuine Outback Australia.

When the light is just right! 💜 Massive geological forces created the towering red walls of Ormiston Gorge and Pound, located within the West MacDonnell National Park, 135 kilometres west of #AliceSprings. The best way to describe the ‘Pound’ is as a huge amphitheatre surrounded by hills and ridges 🙌 The 7 kilometre long Pound walk takes you on a full circuit from the visitor centre across the rocky slopes, onto the flat floor of the pound and returns along the gorge via the main waterhole. Whether you're looking for just a day walk or are hiking the more challenging Larapinta Trail, we guarantee this spectacular trail will take your breath away! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @dubstamatic.  #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

The lovely @MargotRobbie ventured to the Red Centre this week for the ultimate outback adventure, including a visit to #Uluru and a trip on #TheGhan 🙌 According to Margot, there's no need for filters - “it's just that beautiful out here". We can't argue with that! #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia

Flying high over ancient #Kakadu National Park ✨ 🚁 From this spectacular vantage point you’ll see the most astonishing side of @Australia's largest national park... ancient sandstone plateaus, sheer escarpments, endless savannah forest, white sand beaches, winding rivers and expanses of floodplains. One of Kakadu's most impressive waterfalls, Jim Jim Falls is a sight to behold year round whether it's in full flow or reduced to a trickle during the drier months (April-September). With the dry season having just begun in the Top End, ground access will soon be available again for travellers wanting to visit these falls. Tip: You'll need a four-wheel drive to get to Jim Jim! Surrounded by an exotic landscape and a profusion of wildlife, Bamurru Plains offers the ultimate bush experience. This @wildbushluxury safari lodge has exclusive access to 300 km² of floodplains and savannah woodland on the Mary River, on the edge of #Kakadu National Park. There's only 10 safari-style bungalows and each suite overlooks the floodplain 🙌 With mesh walls on three sides you can hear and see the wildlife and wilderness around you. Their activities are just as unique - you can watch as hundreds of birds take flight from around the infinity-edge pool, spot saltwater crocodiles as you skim across floodplains by airboat or search for buffalo and wallabies on an open top safari drive. Beat the Monday blues with a visit to Southern Rockhole in Nitmiluk (#Katherine) Gorge! This glorious waterfall only flows for a limited time during the year... talk about exclusive! The rockhole can be reached by an 8 kilometre (return) walk from the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre, along the Windolf trail (via Yambi walk). If you're not keen on walking, you can choose to swap the hike for a ferry ride, which brings you within 150 metres of the swimming hole and waterfall. @2aussietravellers captured this stunning view of #KataTjuta (#TheOlgas) while enjoying canapes at the Sounds of Silence dinner experience at @ExploreUluru. They described the region as a “long-time bucket list destination" and finally being there was “every bit as emotional and beautiful" as they had imagined! Entered into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame, the Sounds of Silence tour offers the best of the Red Centre distilled into four magical hours. You'll get to watch the sun go down with a glass of sparkling wine, followed by dinner under a canopy of stars, while a story teller shares with you the secrets of the desert sky ✨🧡 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Toni and Drew! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

You might have gone for a dip in a natural waterhole before, but we bet you've never seen a view quite like this 🙌 #Kakadu National Park's Gunlom Plunge Pool overlooks the stunning southern hills and ridges of the park and is made up of a series of clear pools. While the climb to the top is relatively steep, we promise it's well worth your while!  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @sarahreuben. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu

The precarious piles of huge granite boulders, wide open skies and golden sunlight make the #DevilsMarbles Conservation Reserve (#KarluKarlu) a must do on your NT travel itinerary. The unique rock formations found here were created by an upsurge of molten rock that cooled and became solid beneath a layer of sandstone. Over millions of years the hardened granite cracked and water broke down the sandstone and then the granite... as a result, rounded boulders were formed 🙌 There's a reason why they describe it as 'the balancing act that took 1.5 million years to perfect'! This 1,802 hectare reserve extends along both sides of the Stuart Highway and is roughly 400 kilometres north of #AliceSprings. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @patterson_nate! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT
