Immerse yourself in this premium SeaLink Tiwi Islands art and culture day tour.
A highly personalised experience; this leisurely walking tour visits all the places of interest with your friendly Tiwi guide. After disembarking in the Aboriginal community of Wurrumiyanga on Bathurst Island, you'll be escorted to Tiwi Design where local artists and dancers will perform a formal Welcome to Country with a smoking ceremony and totem dances.
Enjoy a typical Tiwi morning tea of damper and a cuppa while getting to know some of the Tiwi Island community members. Explore the Mission Precinct with your knowledgeable guide telling stories of life and culture in the Tiwi Islands.
Visit the Patakijiyali Museum with your guide to learn the history of the Mission days, the Tiwi Creation story, Tiwi involvement in WWII and most importantly (to the Tiwi!), celebrated football players!
After a rest and lunch in the shade, it’s time to re-visit Tiwi Design and participate in an exclusive ‘behind-the-scenes’ screen printing workshop. Choose from contemporary or traditional Tiwi design to print onto a take-home t-shirt, tea towel or fabric – a wonderful souvenir of your Tiwi visit.
Come on board for a 45-minute highlights cruise on Darwin's beautiful harbour. Sit back, relax and enjoy a different perspective of Darwin city & historic city wharves from our open sundeck or the air-conditioned cabin.
Our Skippers provide commentary on Darwin's history including our involvement in WWII and the bombing of Darwin, cyclone Tracey as well as today's modern Darwin.
Tickets sold at the ferry terminal from 11:30am or book online. Snacks & drinks are available for purchase onboard.

Cruise from Darwin around the Cox Peninsula and into Bynoe Harbour, disembarking right on the beach at the remote Crab Claw Island Resort where you’ll indulge in a delicious all-Australian seafood buffet lunch.
Feast on locally caught barramundi, thread fin salmon and prawns, SA oysters, Black Angus porterhouse steak, fresh salads and dessert; all while taking in the stunning harbour views and enjoying a drink or two with friends.
Spend the afternoon relaxing in the bar, floating in the resort pools or explore further afield through the wildlife sanctuary before cruising back to Cullen Bay.
Our most-asked question must be "What's on the other side of the Harbour?" The Half Day Mandorah Explorer Tour gives you the opportunity to find out.
The tour commences on the 7:45am Cullen Bay to Mandorah commuter ferry, giving you the first clue about life for those who live on 'the other side'. (Mandorah & Wagait Beach residents call Darwin the 'dark side'!). For the majority of residents, the ferry service is their daily commute to school, shopping, sport and work.
Hear about the development of the Wagait Beach community, see the beaches, WWII history, keep your eyes peeled for our Top End birdlife and wallabies.
You will learn about the amazing structure of Mandorah Jetty and why it is built the way it is. West Point submarine nets and how they stopped an enemy sub during WWII. The white sandy Wagait Beach, her community and role in WWII. Visit the resting place of Milady, an American B-24 aircraft, respectfully cared-for and those lost remembered. You might spot a Beach Stone-Curlew or White-bellied Sea-eagle. What rock formations can you discover at low tide?
Morning tea is included and your guide will find a shady spot to relax.
This exclusive package accommodation is at the luxurious Tiwi Island Retreat and includes the journey to Wurrumiyanga for the Tiwi by Design tour and much more.
Take the ferry from Darwin to Bathurst Island (Wurrumiyanga) then travel across Bathurst Island by 4WD to meet your sea transfer to the remote beachfront Tiwi Island Retreat. Fish from the beach, relax by the pool, experience the Tiwi sunset and canapes on the beach. In the evening you'll enjoy a chef-prepared dinner on the deck.
On your second day you'll rise for a tropical breakfast and transfer to Wurrumiyanga to immerse yourself in Tiwi art and culture. Participate in a smoking ceremony, meet Tiwi artists, be guided on a walking tour through the Patakitjiyali Museum and Mission Precinct and screen print your own take-home souvenir. This afternoon you'll return to Darwin on the afternoon ferry.
