The festival of light is one of a kind, making it a very special celebration of Aboriginal art and culture in @visitcentralaus. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Daniel! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT #HolidayHereThisYear If you look up 'paradise' in the dictionary, you'll find a photo of #SouthernRockhole at Nitmiluk Gorge 😉 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @nicolemaree92! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #VisitKatherine #HolidayHereThisYear Care to join us in the #CageOfDeath at @CrocosaurusCove in #Darwin? 🐊 #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #BitterSprings giving the ‘Monday blues’ a whole new meaning 💙💙 Swipe across to see just how clear the water is at this iconic location near #Mataranka in @tourismtopend. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @soph__camp! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #VisitKatherine @parrtjimaaustralia - A Festival in Light is back in #AliceSprings ✨ This free 10 night event is the only authentic Aboriginal light festival of it’s kind, showcasing the oldest continuous culture on earth through the newest technology – all on the 300-million-year-old natural canvas of the MacDonnell Ranges in the Red Centre. Check out our IG story for a closer look at this incredible event! #NTaustralia #RedCentreNT #parrtjimaaustralia Where big blue skies meet dramatic landscapes 🧡 Three hours' drive from Uluru is #KingsCanyon, an incredible haven forged over 400 million years. It's jaw-dropping brilliant orange sandstone walls soar 270 metres above sea level. Walk the rim and marvel at the changing landscapes. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @les_judo_en_voyage. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT #Uluru from above with #KataTjuta in the distance, bathed in sunrise orange 🚁 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @rachlitravels! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT You can always rely on #Darwin for a spectacular sunset 💜 It’s hard not to fall in love with a place where the whole town stops to watch the day fade away. Our five favourite places to take in the afternoon show? Darwin Harbour, Mindil Beach, Nightcliff Foreshore, Cullen Bay and Fannie Bay ✨ Long weekend plans, sorted! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @james.cobain. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd Disconnect to reconnect 💚 For spectacular sunset scenes, look no further than little-known Nawurlandja lookout in the heart of #KakaduNationalPark. Walk up the steep 300-metre incline for sweeping views over Anbangbang Billabong and towards Arnhem Land. Sit back and soak up the silence - you may just have this lookout to yourself! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @chippieb. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu You’ll feel instantly at peace when you enter the beautiful Walpa Gorge 🙌 These towering ochre-coloured domes make up #KataTjuta (#TheOlgas), a large rock formation spread over an area of more than 20 kilometres, roughly 30 kilometres from #Uluru. The 2.6 kilometre walk through Walpa Gorge is one of the shorter and easier trails, but if you're looking for a challenge, we suggest the Valley of the Winds walk which will take you on a circuit of some of the domes. Towards the end of the day, head to the Kata Tjuta sunset viewing area and soak up the changing colours of the domes and the desert sky. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @les_judo_en_voyage! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT Dreaming of blue skies and palm trees? 🌴 @TiwiIslandRetreat is situated at Munanampi Point on the south-western coast of Bathurst Island, the smaller of the two major islands which make up the Tiwi Islands (located 80 kilometres north of #Darwin). The ecosystem around the retreat is virtually untouched with turtles, crocodiles, stingrays, mud crabs, dolphins, sharks and an abundance of bird-life right on its doorstep. Their trip packages are designed for friends, couples or groups wanting to explore more of the #TiwiIslands and include return charter flights and twin share rooms with shared facilities. The retreat also offers scenic helicopter flights, mud-crabbing, art and cultural experiences along with a swimming hole adventure. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @_markfitz! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd There's a reason why #LitchfieldNationalPark is known as the ultimate natural playground 🌱 Home to some of the best swimming spots in the Territory, make sure to visit #FlorenceFalls, a piece of paradise tucked away within the heart of the park. Follow the stairway leading down through tropical rainforest to a massive pool where you can swim under the breathtaking double waterfall. Only 60 minutes south of #Darwin, a drive through Litchfield is full of contrasts and some of the most enormous termite mounds in the Top End. Take advantage of the cabin, camping and caravan sites just a short drive from the national park and spend a couple of days exploring the surrounding area. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @globallyjames. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd Don't miss the star-studded nightly show at the #DevilsMarbles / #KarluKarlu ✨ These huge granite boulders, one of the NT's many geological wonders, can be found scattered across a wide valley, 100 kilometres south of #TennantCreek. Karlu Karlu, translates to 'round boulders' - the name is shared by the Kayete, Warumungu, Warlpiri and Alyawarra traditional owners of the area. There are many fascinating creation stories around the site - you can read about them along the many walking trails within the reserve. Pitch your tent in the nearby campground or stay at Devils Marbles Hotel, just a short drive down the road, to see the large boulders change colour in the setting sun, followed by this starry display. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @fournamesdave. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT Summer might be officially over, but we're still hanging on to the warmer weather in @visitcentralaus... ☀ Less than two hours' drive west of #AliceSprings, Redbank Gorge sits at the base of Mount Sonder, the fourth highest mountain in the NT. Take the two kilometre return walk from the car-park along the creek bed to the gorge where you'll find a permanent waterhole with a narrow chasm. Pack a picnic, paddle in the shallows... or simply, just sit back and soak up this outback oasis 😍 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @thenomadsyouknow. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT Water you up to today? 💦 We're following @_chloecmh_'s lead and heading to #MatarankaThermalPool. Not only are these natural springs beautiful to look at, but rumour has it that they have the power to soothe aches and pains 😉 The small town of #Mataranka is only an hour south of #Katherine and is well known for its sandy-bottomed thermal pools, pastoral history and most importantly, as an essential stop along the Stuart Highway when road-tripping in the Top End. #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #VisitKatherine Rainbow-cloaked and shrouded in mist, #KakaduNationalPark's Jim Jim Falls is a magical sight over the @TourismTopEnd tropical summer. Mother Nature puts on a show like nothing else between November and April, with rainfall submerging vast tracts of land and fuelling many of the region's favourite falls. #JimJimFalls can only be seen at this time from the air 🚁 If you've ventured to the base of the falls over the drier months, it's well worth returning and seeing it in full flow! Complete with towering stone escarpments and crazy volumes of water crashing into the gorge below, this is a sight you won't forget in a hurry. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @kakaduair. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu Welcome to peak hour in the Red Centre! 😜🐪 Spot kangaroos and birds, watch the ranges glow under sunset skies and take in the peace of the desert on a camel ride through the Ilparpa Valley with @pyndan_camel_tracks, just outside of #AliceSprings. The camels are gentle and well trained, thanks to ‘camel man’ Marcus, who’s been working with them for 30 years.
