It would be easy to assume this region is like the rest of the NT, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. While it is rugged and remote, the coastline here is what separates it from the rest of the Territory. The largest and most popular of the beaches in the #Nhulunbuy (#Gove) area is Little Bondi. It’s shaped a little like it’s more famous Sydney cousin, however with red rocky cliffs on either side, large sand dunes behind it and stunning turquoise waters, it couldn't be more different! If you're flying direct from Darwin, it's possible to hire a car at the airport for all of your adventures. Base yourself at @walkaboutlodgegove, centrally located in Nhulunbuy. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @iamsavI! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd It's photos like this that make us want to put on our 'out of office' 🖥👋 With a cascading collection of emerald rock pools that seem to go on forever, you could easily spend the whole day at Buley Rockhole in #LitchfieldNationalPark. If you're looking to stay and explore this gorgeous nature park over a few days, be sure to book a cabin at @hideawaylitchfield for the ultimate getaway! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @wanderingmarley. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd @emmajaneeh recently made the most of the desert rain at John Hayes Rockhole, one of the many hidden gems in the East MacDonnell Ranges. This little outback oasis can be found in Trephina Gorge Nature Park and often dries up if there's been no rain for an extended period. Located just 85 kilometres east of #AliceSprings, a high clearance vehicle is recommended for the last section of road to the rockhole. For experienced walkers, it's possible to get there via the Trephina Ridgetop Walk, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding range. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Emma! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT Who left the tap on?🚰🤣 #Kakadu National Park is famous for many things, but a must-see tropical summer experience is the sight of the surging waters of #JimJimFalls (pictured here) and Twin Falls. These mighty rock formations, accessible only from the air at this time of the year, make for unforgettable viewing (and photography)! 🚁 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @flowpyre! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu Look no further than #Darwin for pastel perfection! 🌅 @TourismTopEnd is pretty awesome year round, but between November and April Mother Nature regularly likes to light up the sky with breathtaking stormy sunsets, followed by showers that transform the city into a cool oasis. @true_north_touring dropped by the @DarwinSailingClub a couple of nights ago and captured this cracking shot, just minutes from the city centre. Our tip - @StokesHillWharf, @DarwinTrailerBoatClub and Cullen Bay are also firm favourites with the locals for prime viewing 👌 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @true_north_touring! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd Tell the boss you're putting in leave... the Red Centre awaits! 😍 Summer vibes are in full swing and the many waterholes around #AliceSprings are ripe for a cool dip! About 15 songs into that classic road trip playlist, you'll arrive at Ellery Creek Big Hole, only an hour west of town. Recent rainfall has replenished this outback oasis, making it the perfect time to visit! Cheers for tagging @backyardbanditsaustralia. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT Hello #Uluru 👋 After seeing this incredible shot by pilot @elwingstar, we think she might have one of the best jobs in the world 😍 Just when you thought your #bucketlist couldn't get any longer, you'd better add soaring over @exploreuluru with @ayersrockscenicflights! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Eva. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT @saltandcharcoalau described the #DevilsMarbles (#KarluKarlu) as one of the best places in @Australia for star-gazing 🌠 With no artificial light nearby to interfere, we guarantee you too will be amazed by the region's star-studded nightly show! If you've always wanted to sleep under the ✨, it's possible to camp within the conservation reserve - making it even easier to witness sunrise and sunset at this iconic location. Campers should come well equipped with only limited facilities onsite. Alternatively, you'll find Devils Marbles Hotel just nine kilometres down the road, with a beer garden, small restaurant and various rooms available. Photo: @tropicalpassports #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT Visiting @TourismTopEnd over the tropical summer? Look no further than @DarwinAirboatTours. Their custom built V8 airboats will collect you from Stokes Hill Wharf, just minutes from the #Darwin CBD. Next stop 👉 an epic adventure! The one hour tour will take you across Darwin Harbour and towards the city's mangroves, where you'll cruise along the mudflats. Your adrenaline will be pumping after an airboat fast lap, before slowing down to enjoy the local landscape, home to birdlife, crocodiles and crustaceans. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @iamsavi! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd New Year's resolution: spend more time in outback waterholes...🏖 A cool dip at Ormiston Gorge, only a 90 minute drive from #AliceSprings, is a must over the summer months. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @_aswewander. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT Without further ado, here's our Most Popular Post of 2020! Thanks for coming with us on this journey. We hope you'll feel inspired to visit the NT in 2021. We'll give you a second while you pick your jaw off the floor! 😍 The colours of #BitterSprings are almost edible, with the decadent turquoise blues of the springs set against the alluring green foliage of surrounding tropical woodlands. Feel like a float? Be sure to bring some goggles and a swimming noodle...the soft current will gently take you a hundred metres or so downstream! Just an hour south of #Katherine and moments from the small township of #Mataranka, this slice of paradise is only a five minute walk from the car park. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @looktheworldintheeye. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #VisitKatherine It's not hard to see why this was your second favourite photo in 2020! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @wearelocals_darwin. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #VisitKatherine We're halfway there... here's your 5th favourite photo in 2020! There's waterfalls, and then there's WATERFALLS...🤩 #Kakadu's Maguk Gorge is definitely a leader in the latter category! Walk the 1 kilometre trail to the gorge through some of the region's most eye-catching scenery, and when you're finally over taking photos - hop in! Welcome to glamping, @KingsCanyon Resort style, where you'll wake to the Red Centre at its finest 🙌 Spacious and contemporary, these new tents opened last year and feature canvas sides and large windows to welcome in the views, as well as king beds with premium linens, modern lounge and dining area, split system air-conditioning (yas!) and a private ensuite. Here's your 9th favourite photo! Can we take a moment to appreciate our backyard? The West MacDonnell Ranges are famous for their postcard-like scenery 😍 Shaded by towering cliffs and ghost gums, Simpsons Gap is the first of many adventure stops just west of #AliceSprings. There are several short walks nearby that show off the area’s native plants and wildlife. Our tip: Head here just before sunset; not only do the red gorge walls light up as the sun hits them, but you might also spot one of the local black-footed rock wallabies that call the area home.
