An hour south of Cooinda Lodge, Maguk requires a four-wheel drive to access, but once you're there it's just a one-kilometre walk to the main waterfall set in an immense stone amphitheatre. If you're a keen adventurer, you can choose not to cross the river along the main trail and remain on the left bank to climb above the falls where you'll find these magnificent smaller plunge pools with incredible views 🙌 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Max and Faye! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakaduView on Instagram The ultimate 5 billion star experience... ✨ @ontopofaus recently stayed at #Mataranka Homestead, a popular stopover along the Stuart Highway, roughly an hour south of #Katherine. With close to 100 powered sites and unlimited unpowered sites, it's the ultimate place to camp out and take advantage of the low levels of light pollution - perfect star-gazing conditions! The Homestead borders Elsey National Park and isn't far from the region's warm springs, Mataranka Thermal Pool and Bitter Springs, famed for their crystal clear water. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @ontopofaus! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEndView on Instagram Watching sunset should be a mandatory activity in #Kakadu National Park - they're way too good to miss, hey @turquoiselane_shop! There are a number of well known places within the park to watch the daily afternoon show, however Nawurlandja Lookout has to be one of our favourites 👉 after a short clamber up a steep rock slope you'll have world-class views across Anbangbang Billabong to Nourlangie Rock (Burrungkuy) and the #ArnhemLand escarpment. This peaceful spot is great for sitting back and taking in the changing colours at the end of the day or watching dramatic storms roll in during the tropical summer. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Suzie! #SeeAustralia #DoKakadu #SeeKakaduView on Instagram Reporting from #Darwin, where the main show has already begun 🙌 There's no need to add a filter to your @TourismTopEnd holiday snaps, the sunsets actually look THIS good! With a mixed bag of adventure activities, fantastic food and colourful outdoor markets, our NT capital city is the ultimate tropical escape 🌴 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @ally.photog! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEndView on Instagram It's easy to see why it's called #KingsCanyon 👑 Located midway between #Uluru and #AliceSprings, you'll find this natural wonder at the western end of the George Gill Range in Watarrka National Park. The canyon's sandstone walls were formed from small cracks that have eroded over millions of years to create these magnificent cliffs 🙌 The lush, sheltered creek below is a refuge for many plants and animals. The best way to explore the canyon is on foot with two walking trails to pick from; including the longer, more challenging Rim Walk and the easier Kings Creek Walk at the base of the canyon. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @shantal_indo! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNTView on Instagram We know what we're doing this #weekend... waterfall hopping in #Litchfield National Park! A short 90 minute drive from #Darwin, the park is rich in rainforest walks, see-through swimming holes and waterfalls that tumble down from Tabletop Range. Popular spots to take a plunge include the forest-fringed Florence Falls – best enjoyed after a hike to the viewing platform above the cascade! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @_aswewander. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEndView on Instagram When you can see the light at the end of the tunnel on a #Friday arvo 😜 A relatively short and easy drive from #AliceSprings, Standley Chasm cuts through the tough quartzite to form a natural alleyway. Thousands of years' worth of surging flood waters are responsible for this beautiful site, which is best seen around noon on a sunny day when the high walls light up. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @alanaauld! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNTView on Instagram Keep calm... the weekend is almost here! @adventuresinabus have been making the most of the dry season in @TourismTopEnd and a big part of that involves checking out as many swimming spots as possible 😎💦 If you're looking for an easy day trip from #Darwin, we recommend Berry Springs Nature Park! Surrounded by tropical bushland, it has great shaded picnic and barbecue areas with several pools and a small waterfall fed by crystal clear spring water 🙌 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Tom and Cat 👍 #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEndView on Instagram Looks like someone forget to turn the light off! 💡 Just kidding... @helloemilie was lucky enough to capture the full moon rising over #Uluru last month 🌝 This iconic monolith is not only a magnificent natural formation, it's also a deeply spiritual place. You can feel a powerful presence the moment you first set eyes on it ✨ Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Emilie! #SeeAustralia #ExploreUluru #RedCentreNTView on Instagram Keep in touchSign up to receive the latest news, deals and travel information about the Northern Territory.
