Get your camera ready - we're flying over Edith Falls (Leliyn)! Located roughly 60 kilometres from #Katherine in Nitmiluk National Park, Edith Falls (Leliyn) rewards those up for a hike. The main pool at the base of the falls is beautiful, but it’s also well worth hiking to the upper pool via the 2.6 kilometre Leliyn loop walk. It ticks all the boxes for Top End swimming heaven: a plunge pool you could swim in for hours; mesmerising rock formations and a scenic walking trail 🙌 Edith Falls has a grassy campground along with a small kiosk if you're keen to stay and explore the area, including the longer Sweetwater Pool hike. Pull up a bar stool to enjoy a drink, a meal and a good old chin wag with a true local at the historic @DalyWatersPub. Clad in corrugated iron, draped with bougainvilleas and crammed with decades of memorabilia, the pub began serving passengers arriving on the new Qantas airline in 1934 and was the first international runway and airport in Australia. As a popular watering hole along the track, the Daly Waters Pub holds a liquor licence that has been in continuous use since 1938. Located just 3 hours south of #Katherine, the pub offers a variety of accommodation ranging from budget rooms to two bedroom cabins. An extensive menu served every night during the dry season includes a range of salads, steaks, lamb, chicken, and best of all fresh local wild caught Territory barramundi and thread fin salmon. You'll soon forget the hustle and pressures of city slicker life at this happy go lucky pub where the daily special is a good dose of outback hospitality 🤠 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @explorewithmegs! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd

The outback meets the tropics in #Katherine, a big country town three hours drive south of #Darwin on the mighty Katherine River. The jewel of this area is Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge, an ancient 13 gorge system that winds it way through the sandstone country. The walks around the gorge are one of the best ways to explore the region, ranging from easy 1-5 kilometre trails to serious full day and overnight hikes. They take you to stunning lookouts, secluded swimming holes, through palm filled valleys and over rocky escarpments. As @mooski_adventures discovered, the 8.4 kilometre return Windolf walk is well worth your while, offering sweeping views of the first gorge from Pat's Lookout, along with seasonal swimming at Southern Rockhole down below. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Amy and Sarah! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #NitmilukNT #VisitKatherine
