Group on a guided Segway tour around Uluru (1)

Outdoor activitiesaround Uluru

Put the ‘out’ back in Outback and pack your Uluru adventure with everything from hiking, camel riding and quad biking to camping and scenic flights.

Walking & hiking

For an exercise in scale, walk among the three giants of the Red Centre – Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon. Here you can embark on short, day, and multi-day walks along excellent trails, and explore the extraordinary cultural and natural history of these famous landmarks and their surrounds.

Camel riding

Get on board the camel train and trek the red sand dunes on a dromedary. Enjoy the crisp morning air with a sunrise ride, or meander through the dunes as the sun slowly dips, gently changing the colour of everything around you and beckoning you to enjoy a sunset tipple.

Scenic flights

Take to the air to see the ‘giants’ from another perspective. Sidle over ancient, magnificent Uluru, soar over the domes of Kata Tjuta and hover over Kings Canyon and table-top Mount Conner. Admire the ever-changing colours of Lake Amadeus and sink below the rim of remote Petermann Pound, camera at the ready to capture wild camels and horses.

Camping

Make yourself at home at one of the Red Centre’s amazing campgrounds. Lounge by the campfire and stretch out your swag under the twinkling snow-dome of the desert night sky and count the shooting stars. You’ll never want to move out.

Adventure travel

Set off on an adventure and explore the Outback on the back of a late model Harley Davidson and cruise the Ayers Rock sunset strip. Head off road on a quad biking adventure through the dunes around Kings Creek Station, or explore isolated bush tracks across the plains in a 4WD. For a unique experience, jump onto a Segway tour and glide around the base of Uluru.
