For many years Katherine Regional Arts presents a fabulous community event - the 'Junk Fest.

'

This is a festival that brings community together from across the Big Rivers region to play creatively through making art from rubbish/junk into sculptures and fashion, dancing and live music.

It is a celebration of the region, whilst also reflecting how the actions as consumers can have catastrophic effects on the environment. It is a time to consider how much as consumers waste and 'throw out'.

The event includes live music, local dance performances, crowd dance, junk sculpture exhibition - made by locals - welded, non welded etc. Junk fashion and junk hat parade, announcement of Junk sculpture and fashion category winners - with Big prizemoney, junk play area for kids, food and drinks.

Donation/gold coin donation for entry.
