Higgins Theatre Alice Springs
As part of the Alice Springs Youth Centre, the main hall (Higgins Theatre) is important for its historical and social associations with Mrs Agnes East MBE and Mrs Joan Higgins OAM, both of whom made a significant contribution to youth affairs and recreation in the Territory.
The site has served as a sport and recreation venue for Alice Springs youth since the 1950s. Between 1960 and 1984 Higgins Theatre also served as the Town Hall and was the focal point for social events in Alice Springs.
