The Wangi Falls to Walker Creek section is a two-day 18½ kilometre bushwalk that is part of the Tabletop Track.
It takes you from the ever-popular Wangi Falls to Walker Creek in Litchfield National Park.
Pause along this section of the track to take in the views of the stunning escarpment country. The landscape's rocky outcrops and ridges offer plenty of opportunities to see local wildlife, and provide a haven for northern quolls, wallabies, frogs and lizards. There is abundant birdlife to spot - look out for colourful red-winged parrots, double-bar finches, or kingfishers.
From the escarpment the path traverses open woodland and crosses creeks lined with pandanus. Overnight at the bush campsite located at Tjenya Falls.
Be aware that water can become scarce across the Tabletop Track later in the dry season (August-September). It is recommended to carry sufficient supplies.
The walk is graded as moderate to difficult, so a good level of fitness and preparation is required.
