In our 35th year, Barunga festival will now be held on the 11th-13th September 2020.
Our three-day music, sports and culture festival was scheduled to run from 5-7 June. This year’s theme is ‘family’, highlighting the nature and feel of the festival. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we band together to support the arts and remote communities wherever possible.
The annual Barunga Festival celebrates Indigenous community life through music, sport and culture, with an outstanding music lineup.
Featuring Indigenous art, an international didgeridoo competition, story telling circle and outstanding displays of sporting prowess in AFL, softball and basketball, Barunga Festival is a unique blend of music, sport and culture, with a strong emphasis on cultural exchange and collaboration.
Barunga promises more unique and inspiring musical collaborations, top notch team and individual sporting feats, fantastic activities for kids, healthy, delicious food and some of the best Territory dry season camping around.
