Garrmalang Festival is a celebration of the artistic richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, right in the heart of Larrakia country.
For the traditional custodians, Garrmalang is the name of what is now Darwin’s CBD. The city’s only dedicated First Nations festival is now in its sixth year and has cemented itself as an event of national importance, honouring the oldest living culture in the world. Garrmalang is Darwin’s only major multi-arts event led by a First Nations creative director.
Running across three days in 2022, the Festival program will feature artists and musicians from across the country, as well as panel talks, visual arts and events for the whole family.
Supported by Darwin Entertainment Centre, Northern Territory Government, City of Darwin, Larrakia Nation, Charles Darwin University and Off The Leash Magazine.
