The Harts Range Races have run annually since 1947 at the Harts Range Racecourse, set in the majestic East MacDonnell ranges area 215km East of Alice Springs on the Plenty Highway.

It is one of Australia's most remote and unique bush weekends and a great opportunity for town, station and community people to come together for a great weekend of camping and family fun.

The races are an iconic event as they are credited with being the origins of the gazetted Picnic day Public Holiday in the Northern Territory.

Events include Motorkhana, Rodeo, Stockhorse Races with Fashions on the Field, Novelty Events and an Evening Bush Dance on the Saturday. The Sunday activities include Family Sports events including Running Races, Novelty Races for kids, Ladies Cow Tail Toss and Tug-of-War, Rodeo in Afternoon, Evening Trivia, Talent Quest and Karaoke.

Gate Entry includes unpowered camping sites and use of the toilet and shower facilities. There is a canteen and a small variety of food and coffee vans.
