'Winter' in the Top End is looking pretty darn good, particularly when it's all endless sunshine, lush tropical bush land and an array of incredible swimming spots 🙌 Gunlom Falls is located in the southern part of #Kakadu National Park 👉 it's roughly a two kilometre return climb to the infinity-style plunge pool at the top of the escarpment, but it's well worth the effort! The views are breathtaking and the water is crystal clear, making it the ultimate spot for a hang-out sesh in the sun ☀️ To get to this piece of paradise, a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, however you can always jump on a tour with @kakadutourism or @wayoutbackaus if you don't have access to one.  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @bennygamlin! #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu

There’s nowhere like the Red Centre ❤️ From diving into hidden waterholes in the arid landscape to getting your adventure fix with off-road driving in Can-am ATV’s, there’s something for everyone in central @Australia, including getting up close and personal with some of the NT’s unique wildlife. Take a look at our IG story for all the behind the scenes action with @kyle_hunter, @haylsa and @jordhammond. Video: @nics_mindset and @we_are_explorers #NTaustralia #SeeAustralia

Pro tip: Stare deeply at this photo and feel the serenity start to sink in 🙏 You’ll need a four-wheel drive vehicle and sensible shoes to reach Jurassic Park-esque Jim Jim Falls in #Kakadu National Park, which opens conditionally during the dry season but doesn’t always boast flowing water. The 50 kilometre unsealed road to the falls can be quite bumpy and is followed by a 2 kilometre return scramble over boulders. You'll emerge from cool forest to a stunning emerald pool in the shadows of 200 metre-high cliffs...arguably Jim Jim's key highlight! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @nath_lew. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #SeeKakadu

Ormiston Gorge is like that one annoying over-achieving classmate you had in school that was literally good at everything (you know who you are!) 😜 Seriously, look at this snap from @jade_elise_collins! This freshwater oasis is located in the West MacDonnell Ranges and is only a 1.5 hour drive from #AliceSprings. It's the ultimate day trip and only one of many incredible stops in the national park. You could easily spend the day here or explore some other swimming spots such as Ellery Creek Big Hole, Redbank Gorge or Glen Helen Gorge. In the wintertime the water is on the cooler side but the view is still worth a visit and there are plenty of walking trails to be explored. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Jade! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

Water you up to this weekend? 💦 We'll be following @jade_elise_collins' example and heading to #Mataranka Thermal Pool. Not only do these springs look incredible but rumour has it that they have the power to soothe aches and pains 😉 The small town of Mataranka is only an hour south of #Katherine and is well known for its sandy-bottomed thermal pools, pastoral history and most importantly, as an essential stop along the Stuart Highway when road-tripping in the Top End! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Jade. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #VisitKatherine

Anyone ever tell you to ‘take a hike’?! We’ve never really understood that saying, especially when we look out at the view from the #KingsCanyon rim walk in #Watarrka National Park! Allow about 3-4 hours to conquer the trail - we recommend an early start to catch sunrise! 🙌 What’s the best part? Well, the walk borders the edge of the canyon for most of the trail resulting in epic views of the surrounding landscapes! What more could you ask for in an adventure?! Located in central Australia, Kings Canyon can be found roughly halfway between Uluru and Alice Springs. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @bertnol!  #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

As far as rail journeys go, they don't get much better than #TheGhan! A unique and awe-inspiring experience, you'll explore the wonders of the country's diverse interior in style and comfort on a 2,979 kilometre journey from #Darwin to Adelaide. Known for its iconic place in Australian history and strong connection to the vast landscape, The Ghan is currently celebrating 90 years of outback adventure 🤠 Having been in operation since 1929, its conception and construction is an epic tale of pioneering endurance. At this time of year, @journeybeyondrail runs The Ghan Expedition over three nights (as opposed to the usual two) with excursions in #Katherine, #AliceSprings and Coober Pedy. @jarradseng and @thehatchling recently embarked on the southbound journey - check out our story to see more of the highlights! #NTaustralia #JourneyBeyond

How's the serenity? 🤩 Our version of Goldilocks, Buley Rockhole involves hopping from pool to pool until you find one that's just right! With a cascading collection of emerald rock pools that seem to go on forever, you could easily spend the whole day, you can skip those expensive spa treatments and take a seat while fast flowing whitewater gives you a shoulder massage 😜 At just over an hour from #Darwin, #Litchfield National Park is a water-lovers' paradise with a number of dip-worthy destinations dotted throughout the area, including Florence Falls and Wangi Falls. If you're looking to stay and explore longer, accommodation is available in the small township of Batchelor along with a number of camp grounds within the park.  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @eefexplores!  #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd

The outback is calling... 🧡 A visit to Simpsons Gap, near #AliceSprings, is a great way to experience the rugged landscape of the West  MacDonnell Ranges. Areas of white sand, huge river eucalyptus trees, and white-barked ghost gums lead to a permanent waterhole in the shelter of rugged cliffs, which are particularly impressive as the sun starts to go down. Nearby walking trails will take you to quiet spots where rock wallabies appear in the early morning and late afternoon, and Cassia Hill offers excellent views of the Larapinta valley. A 24 kilometre hike from Alice Springs Telegraph Station to Simpsons Gap marks the first section of the famous Larapinta Trail, one of Australia's most famous outback walks. The area is an important spiritual site to the Aranda Aboriginal people, where several dreaming stories cross.  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @jarradseng! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT
