Based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), the business connects visitors to Country through guided tours, traditional knowledge sharing, authentic bushfood tastings, catering for events and sales of locally made bush food products to take home.

Explore ancient flavours of the Central Desert on a guided walk with their bushfood experts at the Olive Pink Botanic Garden, Simpsons Gap, Alice Springs Telegraph Station or the Alice Springs Desert Park.

Taste Ancient Flavours on an immersive bushfoods culinary experience, demonstration and presentation. See, hear, touch, smell and taste a range of ethically harvested bushfoods and medicines from the Central Desert at the Olive Pink Botanic Garden, Alice Springs Telegraph Station, Standley Chasm or a private booking at a venue of your choice.

On each experience, learn about native plants, seasonal bushfoods and ancient survival techniques. Each tour includes stories passed down over generations, blending cultural knowledge with food experiences.

Kungkas Can Cook is Aboriginal-owned and women-led. All experiences are grounded in deep respect for Country, culture and community. Tours are all led by Aboriginal Guides and local knowledge holders with a commitment to cultural integrity and sustainability.

Explore and taste ancient flavours of the Central Desert

We invite you to join our local Arrernte bush food experts from Kungkas Can Cook, learning about the abundance we call the 'bush supermarket'.

This unique private cultural tour offers a profound immersion into the traditions, and customs passed down through generations of First Nations peoples. Enjoy ethically sourced, organic bush food straight from the Central Desert. These foods have been enjoyed by Aboriginal communities for over 60,000 years.

Includes a 1.5 hour guided cultural walk followed by a Kungkas Can Cook shared tasting platter to sample native ingredients presented both in traditional and modern ways. Cooking demonstrations and interactive bush food presentations are also available.

Private tours only suitable for families, schools, corporates and tour operators. Tours are offered at the Olive Pink Botanic Garden, Simpsons Gap, Alice Springs Telegraph Station, Standley Chasm or a venue of your choice in Central Australia.
