The Desert Song Festival comes roaring back in 2019, with its most exciting and ambitious program yet.
With bold, artistic innovation the rich, musical traditions of Africa, India, the Americas and Central Australia will combine to showcase our global musical heritage. Singers, musicians and audiences will be united in this sixth annual celebration of cultural diversity and artistic brilliance in Central Australia.
Ancient landscapes and iconic heritage venues in town, provide the staging. Through music and song, audiences can connect with the custodians of this land and will feel the ‘connection to country’ as two major events, in the Tjoritja/ West MacDonnell Ranges, bookend the festival.
Over 10 glorious days a myriad of concerts, workshops and masterclasses will present choirs, musicians, small vocal ensembles and solo performers, in a celebration of; the singer, the song, the instrument, the land and its people.
