Then, YES these types of news are EXCITING !!!!! It's fantastic to see a new recycling facility being planned for Katherine! "A $7.2 million Materials Recovery Facility will soon be built in Katherine to sort, process, and re-manufacture materials such as mixed plastic, paper, tyres and glass, as part of the Federal Government’s $1 billion program to overhaul Australia’s waste and recycling industries." Find the article on: ntindependent https://ntindependent.com.au/11-million-for-recycling-in-the-nt-including-new-plant-at-katherine/#disqus_thread The majority of the waste in the Northern Territory goes to landfills... in all regional areas of Australia is very difficult to find recycling facilities.... so this is good news! Did you know that all glass that is not (10ct.) in the NT like wine bottles or glass jars currently end up in landfill???? 😱 #recycling #katherine #northernterritory #sustainablejobs Katherine Hot Springs Photo: racheeymary Introducing our 4th most-liked photo in 2021 🙌: salt.and.charcoal floating in the 📍 Katherine Hot Springs Thank you for this amazing photo 🧡 #top9 #savemyspotnt #visitkatherine #katherinehotsprings Coming in 8th place out of our Top 9 2021 recap: aliciajayneee enjoying the natural wonders of Katherine. Once again, nature provides all the pretty hot springs in the outback 🍃💧 Lost count on how many times I thought “damn this is niiiice” Magical crystal clear blue Warm water that heals body soul 💧✨ 📍 Katherine Hot Springs Travelling Australia in 2021 can be really unpredictable. From the outside, Australia appears to be doing well at handling the current global crisis on, but on the inside it may be a different matter. Every state seems to have different rules on where you can and where you can't enter from and there are snap lockdowns popping up everywhere. Like anybody else who likes to travel as much as possible we're very used to plans changing by now, and having to think on our feet a little more. Despite feeling very privileged to be able to travel this incredible country, it definitely doesn't come without the odd hiccup. Today is our first day back officially on the road with no work , and even this upcoming trip we have planned has caused some bumps in the road due to border restrictions. Saying that we do still have a plan B, C and D to make sure we can keep on moving. How have you found travelling during this year? 📍Katherine Hot Springs We just wanted to say a quick hello and introduce ourselves a bit as we haven’t really done that properly yet. We are Jimmy and Angharad, the faces behind beyondthe.moment Originally from the UK, from rivalling countries England and Wales (which has proven difficult during the Six Nations, mainly from Angharad’s side 🏴). We met while doing our 3 months farm work in Bundaberg and since then we have travelled the majority of the East Coast and the QLD Outback. We both have a great passion for travel and photography, which is why we have created this account to document our current travels through Australia, and hopefully New Zealand being our next big adventure. We can’t wait to share all the high’s and low’s of life on the road with you all 🤙🏻 📍Katherine Hot Springs Like a lot of you we love getting nice shots of the places we visit, however there's a lot more to it than just picking up a camera, so here's a few things that we come up against. Anyone else relate? 1. The crowds, especially at the moment there's more people than ever travelling around Australia. A lot of the popular spots are very crowded making it that bit more difficult to get the shot you wanted 2. The feeling that you're being judged, it's very easy to assume that people are going to either be looking and watching or seeing your content online and judging you but the reality is 99% of the time this isn't the case, and if it is the case you, you just have to remember that it's you that counts and not somebody else's negativity 3. Finding the location, we all love to get the shots next to the popular spots that we see all over instagram however we find there's so many hidden gems that a lot of people drive past every day and wouldn't give a second look at so keep and eye out for something away from the crowds Continuing our journey north... Katherine Hot Springs (or, as we found, barely warm springs 😅), Adelaide River War Cemetery and Adelaide River Inn. #exploringourownbackyard #livingourdream #workingaroundaustralia #outbacklife #outback #outbackaustralia #loveNT #NTaustralia #northbound #justdoıt Katherine Hot Springs was another magical spot we got to stop along the way 😍 As the rest of australia start preparing to hibernate for the winter, Darwin and the Top End are exploding with events, adventure and sunshine ☀ with visitkatherine announcing recently that the Katherine Hot Springs have reopened for the year 💦 just a 5min drive from the Katherine town centre, these hot springs are free to enter and compromise of a series of clear pools surrounded by natural vegetation 🌳 thanks to Tourism australia for the pic 😍 #darwinairport #mytopend #ntaustralia #seeaustralia Katherine Hot Springs are officially OPEN! ✌ • 📸 credit saltandcharcoalau • • • #dryseason #neverhaveievernt #holidayherethisyear #naturalswimmingpool #visitkatherine Ultimate 1 day hot springs itinerary when visiting the Northern Territory 💦 . When you hear Northern Territory, the first thing that might come to your mind is ‘there’s crocs in the water’! And while this is true, there are actually quite a few places you can swim, hot springs being one of them. And the best part, they are totally free 💸 . 1. MATARANKA SPRINGS: A short walk from the car park will lead you to the hot springs. It might get a bit noisy as hundreds of bats rest in the palm trees above you during the day. If you’d like to stay, you can camp in the nearby caravan park or national park campground. . 2. BITTER SPRINGS: Make sure to bring a floaty. You enter the springs at one end and float downstream where you can exit and take a short stroll back to the beginning. . 3. KATHERINE HOT SPRINGS: Like in all the hot springs the water is crystal clear and a nice 26 to 30•degrees. So make sure you bring your GoPro or underwater camera and you’ll get some amazing shots! . Have you ever been to hot springs? If you want to be lucky enough to have Katherine Hot Springs all to yourself you may have to be a early riser ✨ Trust me, it’s worth it! visitkatherine #katherinehotsprings #nttourism #ntaustralia #wetheseekers We're feeling the tropical vibes at #Mataranka Thermal Pool 🌴 Located one hour south of #Katherine, the unofficial gateway to the tropics, these stunning springs bubble up at 34 degrees to fill a semi-man made pool of perfectly turquoise water under a shady canopy of stretching palms. It's one of three crystal clear thermal pools in the region... make sure you also check out Bitter Springs and Katherine Hot Springs! 💦 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @bellahickling. #SeeAustralia #TourismTopEnd #VisitKatherine Katherine Hot Springs is actual paradise right on #Katherine's door step, just 3 hours south of #Darwin. Best known for its Insta-worthy clear water and pandanus-lined pools, these secluded natural springs pump from deep within the earth at a mild temperature. Not only is this swimming spot ridiculously beautiful, but you can also grab a coffee just moments away at the nearby cafe or pop a picnic blanket down and relax in one of the grassy areas. We spend 24/7 together which would be enough to send a lot of people crazy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. It sounds like a cliche but we are both so proud of the relationship we have built together, we are not perfect, nobody is but we feel we are perfect for each other 👩🏽🤝👨🏼💗 Tag the person you love most, friend, family or lover...
