Audit House at 2 Burnett Place was designed by Burnie Burnett for the Commonwealth Department of Works, this type "B" house was erected in 1938 .
The House suffered substantial damage during Cyclone Tracy in 1974 and the interior has been modified.
Audit House serves primarily as the headquarters and administrative centre of the National Trust of Australia (NT). Audit House and grounds can be hired out for private functions such as weddings, exhibitions and more.
