Participate in a unique hands-on cultural experience at Galaru (East Woody Beach) in East Arnhem Land.
Set entirely at Galaru — a well-known destination and coastal area recognised for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and breathtaking sunsets — you'll spend the afternoon learning to make a traditional Yolŋu hunting spear incorporating skills and cultural knowledge passed down through generations.
Working side by side with Yolŋu expert guides, guests will craft spears from local materials (pre-harvested or sourced onsite) and use fire to carefully straighten the spear—a vital and meditative process centred on Yolŋu knowledge, patience, and traditional way of life.
This intimate and unforgettable experience offers visitors the chance to create, learn, and connect in one of East Arnhem Land's most breathtaking locations. As the sun sets over the coastline, unwind with refreshments and listen to stories that bring Yolŋu culture and connection to Country to life
