Swap your winter plans for red escarpments, tropical waterfalls and huge, starry skies.
If you are a self-sufficient camper who enjoys meeting other travellers, you could be the NT Parks and Wildlife’s next Volunteer Campground Host!
What’s in it for you?
• Immerse yourself in ancient landscapes & camp in remote wilderness
• Meet fascinating travellers from all walks of life
• Enjoy plenty of free time for exploration and relaxation
• Receive an annual Parks Pass
• Earn 1 night free camping for every day you volunteer, to use at any of our NT Parks & Wildlife campgrounds
What you’ll do:
• Welcome campers, offer visitor information & be a friendly point of contact
• Help maintain campground amenities
• Liaise with Park Rangers & report any issues
When and where:
• Our season runs April – September with some northern sites opening slightly later
• We have 9 participating campgrounds across the NT, varying in scenery, weather and degrees of remoteness so you can choose your own adventure!
• Hosts typically volunteer 4-5 hours a day, 6 days a week for at least 3 weeks, however some of our busier parks such as Litchfield National Park and Karlu Karlu/ Devil’s Marbles Conservation Reserve are now also offering shorter placements.
