Please note: Tjuwaliyn (Douglas) Hot Springs Park is currently CLOSED until further notice.

Located approximately 130 km from Katherine and 200 km from Darwin, Tjuwaliyn (Douglas) Hot Springs Park protects a section of the Douglas River, where warm thermal pools create an inviting oasis in the surrounding dry woodland. These waters attract a variety of wildlife, including bird species, bandicoots, quolls and flying foxes.

Swimming is only permitted in designated areas, and visitors should always test the water temperature before entering, as some sections can be extremely hot. Camping is allowed, and caravan access is usually possible, depending on seasonal conditions.

The Wagiman people, traditional owners of this land, jointly manage the park with the Parks and Wildlife Commission. As a significant site for women's ceremonies, the Wagiman women may close the park to the public from time to time.

If you're coming from Darwin, you can choose the scenic route with a turn-off just after the bridge at Adelaide River or take the alternate turn-off halfway between Adelaide River and Pine Creek.
