The remote community of Lilla is located in the Watarrka National Park, about 15km before Kings Canyon.
Starting in morning or afternoon, you will be hosted in this community to learn and experience the local culture and history.
Running time, approx 4 hours.
• A cultural welcoming ceremony performed by the traditional land-owners
• Listen to the dreamtime stories that explain the history of Lilla
• Learn how to use traditional hunting weapons such as the boomerang
• Sit with local artists and paint in the traditional way of the Luritja people
• Guided walk around Lilla and its places of cultural significance such as the women’s area, spiritual waterholes and cave paintings
• Try some campfire cooked kangaroo tail or damper
