Experience Uluṟu up close and follow in the footsteps of ancestral beings who shaped this remarkable landscape.

Walking around the base of Uluṟu is a great way to connect with the rock and learn its stories.

The Uluṟu Base Walk is a 10 km track that circles the entire rock. You can complete the full loop or explore individual sections, depending on your time, fitness, and the weather. Begin at the Mala carpark early in the morning while it's cool and walk clockwise for the best experience.

Key sections include the Mala Walk, North-east Face Walk, Kuniya Walk to Muṯitjulu Waterhole, and Lungkaṯa Walk. The Liru Walk, while not part of the base loop, links the Mala carpark to the Cultural Centre.

Each section offers something unique. This walk is the perfect opportunity to discover the park's diverse plants, animals, and geological features.

In summer, some tracks close in the afternoon due to heat risk. Tip: Carry plenty of water, wear sun protection, and walk only in the cooler morning hours - ideally finishing before 11 am.

Grade 3 - moderate | 10.6 km loop return | 3 hours 30 minutes

To enter the park you'll need a park pass, which you can pre-purchase online for quick and easy entry.
