Duprada Dance Company proudly presents Swan Lake, one of classical ballet’s most famous stories.
In 2020, this classic ballet was brought to life on the stage of Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs. Now, two years later, the company are thrilled to be performing for Darwin audiences.
Swan Lake is a ballet performed all over the world. With its exquisite music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, stunning costumes and based on the choreography by Anne Woolliams, it never fails to capture hearts and become an all-time favourite. A prince, who is in need of a wife to take his place as king, is met by the beautiful princess Odette who is cursed to be the Queen of the swans. The evil Baron Von Rothbart desires power and disguises his daughter Odile to resemble the beauty of Odette, tricking the enamoured prince. The colours and characters of this performance are bound to have you at the edge of your seat and filled with awe and excitement.
