Street Art takes pride of place on this walk as we explore Darwin’s lively laneways and public art displays, including world-renowned artist, Bruce Munro’s Tropical Light installations.
We’ll sample an ice-cold taste of summer at one of our stops and finish our tour at one of Darwin’s brand new urban bars.
Our 2-hour tour starts with a friendly welcome from your Walk Darwin guide and an introduction to the Tropical Summer in Australia’s northern-most city under the shade of a beautiful Banyan Tree; a species much loved in the Top End.
We explore the character of life in Darwin through art as we casually tour the back lanes of the CBD where huge street murals adorn walls of city buildings, with plenty of stops to admire the view. Our tour will take in 4 of the light-art sculptures of Bruce Munro’s Tropical Light exhibition; his first city-wide light exhibition in Australia. We’ll learn about the inspiration for his creations and the stories which connect the exhibits to Darwin.
Between a cool tropical ice-cream, one way to enjoy Darwin’s tropical summer, and an ice-cold drink there's an exclusive opportunity to talk with one of the artists or exhibition ambassadors.
