Sunrise in the valley of the winds - Kata Tjuta
An early pre dawn start has you entering the park as soon as it opens for a drive out to the immense domes of Kata Tjuta.
Beginning your walk in the pre dawn twilight watch the sun's rays strike and bring to life the colours of red conglomerate rock. Enjoy an outback continental breakfast by an ancient creek bed, surrounded by river red gums, singing birds and if you are quiet even some rock wallabies may be spotted quietly, basking in the morning sun before they shelter for the day. Continue your walk along the creek bed enjoying the incredible photo opportunities provided by the morning light. Climb out of the shadows to the Karingana (bush mint) lookout, the true size and majesty of Kata Tjuta can be realised. Descending the rocky track circle around the back of the domes through the mulga valley to re-join the creek bed. Upon your return pause, climbing a sand dune viewing area where you can see Kata Tjuta as well as mountain peaks in Western Australia and South Australia all at the same time.
