    Bukmak Yolngu Mala Aboriginal Knowledge and Culture

    Led by respected elders, we invite you to join Bukmak Yolngu Mala – all people, together – to share in this immersive 4-hour workhop that will transform your relationship with yourself and the world around you.


    Highlights
    - Learn to find and use bush-tucker and bush medicine
    - Hear the creation story of the Morning Star told through art
    - Learn to find, prepare and weave using the leaves of Pandanus
    - Learn about Yolngu hand language, used extensively throughout Arnhem Land
    - Learn to see the world around you through different eyes

    Darwin City Highlights - exclusive (private) tour

    This half day tour draws from the major cultural and historical influences that have shaped modern-day Darwin. The itinerary is flexible and can cater to your specific preferences, or just relax and leave it up to us. A typical itinerary is:


    -Breakfast like a local at a café steeped in history and once dubbed "a den of communist iniquity" by a local politician. Awesome coffee and food.
    -Start our dive into Darwin's multicultural history with a visit to the beautiful Chinese museum and Taoist temple;
    -Visit Aboriginal Bush Traders and purchase locally made crafts, and take a bush-tucker morning tea;
    -Wander through back lanes to discover beautiful and amazing life-sized murals and artwork;
    -At the Darwin waterfront we'll discover a labyrinth of tunnels under the city ; and explore the wharf precinct;
    -Highly recommended is the virtual reality experience of the bombing of Darwin, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (you can even explore inside an RFDS plane).
    - We'll finish with a visit to the Museum and Art Gallery where you can experience a simulation of Cyclone Tracy "chamber"; fabulous arts, culture, and history.

    Laneway Tour

    Our laneway walking tour will show you the best of Darwin’s laneway art, with insight into the stories and artists behind the paintings. The Laneway Tour can be run as a stand-alone tour, or as an add-on to any of our other tours.


    Depart: Anytime (morning or evening is best)


    Duration: Allow two hours


    When: Monday – Sunday


    Includes: Guided walking tour, commentary, chilled water. Pick-up and drop-off can be arranged on request (no cost).

    Aboriginal Cultural Experience

    The tour is led by Shannon Lee, a young Larrakia man and a member of the large local Cubillo family, one of the eight Traditional Owner families of the Darwin region. Shannon’s activities provide participants with an insight into the life of Larrakia people before settlement, and now.


    Shannon’s areas of expertise include:
