Vincent Lingiari’s Burial Site

This is the resting place of the great Gurindji man who led his people on an epic journey against power and privilege more than 50 years ago.

Vincent Lingiari’s efforts are widely recognised as the spark that ignited the Aboriginal Land Rights movement nationwide. For many, he’s considered a hero, up there with the likes of Nelson Mandela and other celebrated global figures who campaigned bravely for their people.

For the Gurindji people, this is an incredibly important site, a place to come and give thanks to their celebrated leader.
