The Katherine Ultra is the premier Ultra and Adventure race in the NT.
An ultra-race highlighting the natural beauty of Nitmiluk NP, the Katherine Gorge, and its surrounds.
Participants will race multiple disciplines, to complete ‘the tonne’ – racing a total of 100kms through the best NP the Territory has to offer.
Participants will race individually or as teams; swimming down the gorge; trail-running; road-riding; mountain-biking; and road-running; a total of 100kms.
Our swimmers will enjoy a 3km swim down the majesty of the second Gorge, to the astounding beauty of Lilly Ponds Waterfall in the third Gorge.
From here they will ascent the cliff face above Lilly Ponds, tracking along the escarpment until they reach the awe inspiring Jeddah’s Rock, and Pat’s lookout, before running down the hill towards the Ranger Station.
Racers will move to road bikes, toiling 40ms+ into the edge of Katherine, and back out to the Gorge.
Participants will then move to the highlight of the day, mountain-biking through wordclass, brand new flow tracks crisscrossing the Southern Escarpment for 18kms, before arriving back at the Ranger Station.
From here, racers will push through the last leg of their race, to run 10kms back to the finish line.
Participants, teams, and spectators will have the option to purchase delicious food and refreshments; and enjoy the best the territory has to offer.
