Palya Art Tours
Palya Art Tours facilitates introductions to Indigenous artists living in remote areas across North West Australia.
Through Palya Art Tour flights, travellers have visited artists through community Art Centres since 1997 and look forward to re-commencing once the risk of Covid-19 is controlled.
Palya Art holds National & International touring art exhibitions, both educational and commercial. Fine artworks are placed into global institutions and private collections. Viewers are subsequently enticed to visit artists where cross cultural interactions take place and sales eventuate directly into the artists' Community Art Centres.
Palya Art Tours runs five-day, four- night fine art trips to remote Aboriginal communities and art centres across north-western Australia in commercially accredited, privately chartered aircraft.
Fine art-lovers with a passion for breathtaking scenery and a desire to meet Indigenous artists are invited to join one of the world’s most unusual journeys.
Company owner, artist, qualified nurse and pilot Helen Read says the journeys are invigorating, rewarding, sometimes challenging and “can often be literally life-changing”.
“People view Australia, Indigenous people and Indigenous art in a totally different way by the time they get home.”
Many of the artists have formidable international reputations yet live relatively quiet lives working in their own communities.
Palya Art Tours visitors have an opportunity to buy world-class Indigenous art directly from the artists’ locally-run art centres.
