Invent your own sailing expedition or join a multi-day cultural cruise to the Cobourg Peninsula and Tiwi Islands, or just relax around Bynoe Harbour.
After a pleasant sail from Darwin to Pirlamgimpi at the very top of the Tiwi Islands and a good nights rest at a quiet anchorage, you'll step ashore to a small, modern Aboriginal community where you'll visit the Munupi Arts and Crafts Centre and meet the local Tiwi artists. Activities for the day may include trying bush tucker, instruction in Tiwi painting and weaving, or visit the local school. Purchases can be made from the art centre later in the day.
The next morning you sail down the picturesque Apsley Straits to the larger community of Nguiu where you'll join the Tiwi Tours tour, and then have the opportunity to wander through the Tiwi Arts and Craft Centre.
Setting sail early in the morning, you'll arrive at Bare Sand Island, a common nesting ground for the flatback turtle. There will be plenty of time for you to go ashore and explore this island, before lunch aboard, and a brisk afternoon's sail back to Darwin.
All accommodation is aboard the luxury 15 metre sailing catamaran 'Sundancer NT'. There's plenty of room for everyone to relax, unwind and get ready for the next day's adventure.
