Parliament House Tours

La Parliament House se situe sur State Square, au bout de Mitchell Street, adjacente à la Supreme Court of the Northern Territory et à la Government House.

C’est l’un des plus importants sites historiques du pays.Le bâtiment, qui surplombe Darwin Harbour se dresse à l’endroit où se trouvait autrefois le bureau de poste et de télégraphe, bombardé lors du premier raid sur le Top End, le 19 février 1942.

La Parliament House de Darwin a ouvert ses portes en 1994.C’est un superbe exemple d’architecture contemporaine en milieu tropical.Vous pouvez opter pour la visite guidée gratuite ou bien visiter le bâtiment à votre rythme.

    Parliament House Guided Tour

    30 am on Wednesdays, excluding the months of December and January.


    You will visit all public areas and hear about the history of the site, the building, and the role of Parliament. One highlight of your tour is a visit to the gallery to view the Parliamentary Chamber, which reflects our Westminster history and tradition.


    You will also see an original wall from the Post Office, which has been incorporated in the Historic Lobby and makes an impressive entry point to the Northern Territory Library. Other things to see include Sturt's Desert Rose Mosaic, the Main Hall, the Portrait Gallery of former Chief Ministers and Speakers of the Northern Territory, and a Time Capsule due to be opened in 2048.

    Self Guided Tour

    The tour identifies seven public areas of Parliament House and includes highlights such as the Northern Territory Flag, the majestic Main Hall, the Bombing of Darwin plaque, the Post Office wall, the Northern Territory Library, Speakers Green and the Portrait Gallery.
