Arrive at Ntaria (Hermannsburg) community and meet at Ntaria (Hermannsburg) supermarket carpark, then you will head off to the special site of Kaporilya springs and listen to Indigenous tour guides.
You will hear all about the rain dreaming story for this special site, as well as hear why the Western Arrernte people celebrate on the first Sunday in October, Kaporilya day where the people of Ntaria (Hermannsburg) remember the completion of the pipeline which provided the mission with a secure water supply.
You will then visit the residence of world-famous Albert Namatjira, where he grew up and found his love for art.
The last stop will be the Hermannsburg Historic Precinct that sits on the mighty Finke River believed to be the world's oldest river dating back over 350 million years. You will learn what it was like to live in 1876 and how the missionaries helped the Western Arrernte people form the community it is today.
