Caladiums Northern Territory is hosting the Northern Territory Caladium Festival, a celebration of all things caladium.
Caladiums are a colourful tropical plant available in literally thousands of colours, shapes and sizes. Very easy to grow, many gardens will have one growing, even if the gardener doesn't know what it is.
The Caladium Festival is a community event with competitions, displays, prizes, giveaways, entertainment for adults and kids, food, educational presentations, and stall holders selling caladiums and other garden products.
Attractions includes hundreds of caladium displays and competition entries including plants, corms, biggest leaves and recycling entries. As well as Caladium themed photography and art entries, including painting, sculpture, jewellery and other media.
There will be thousands of caladium plants for sale, including new and rare varieties, as well as sales of other caladium and gardening themed products such as jewellery, art and pots. Kids' activities including pot painting, face painting and colouring. Adults entertainment including performances by the colourful Darwin Jameleah Bellydance Troupe, as well as educational sessions and talks.
Food and drink sales will be available. There will be a raffle and other prizes and giveaways.
