Be swept away by the wild and passionate spirit of three exciting works.
Witness DSO’s own Concertmaster Tara Murphy starring in Barber’s thrilling violin concerto, a dramatic and contrasting work that culminates in a famously virtuosic and brilliant finale.
This is followed by Kodály’s spirited Dances of Galánta, at its heart a celebration of Hungarian folk melodies. Finally, the cheerful and sweeping Second Symphony of Brahms, his favourite of his own four symphonies, brings this stunning evening of music to a close.
