2023 Country Swimming Championships Darwin

The 2023 Country Swimming Championships is being held at Parap Pool in Darwin.

As the premier swimming event for swimmers from regional or remote areas of Australia. The eligible age of swimmers for the Country Swimming Championships is 11yrs & older. In addition to the main event and to accommodate families coming to the event, they are also running, in conjunction with the 2023 County Swimming Championships, the 2023 Junior Age Challenge, open to swimmers aged 9-11yrs that are able to compete in all 50m and 100m events as well as the 200m Freestyle. There are no qualifying times for this event and will be found on Swim Central, when open, within the 2023 Country Swimming Championships event.

Additional activities, to complement the 2023 Country Swimming Championships are also being organised before and after the event for those participants interested in taking part. These activities include a Phoenix Foundation JX Clinic to be run by Australian Olympic Gold Medalist - Chelsea Hodges, Elite Athlete Meet & Greets, Technical Official training / mentoring, coaching workshops / seminars, hopefully including a development coaching course (TBC) as well as an opportunity to travel in a group environment to one of the Northern Territories most spectacular and memorable experiences - the Adelaide River Jumping Crocodiles.

(includes people with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury (ABI), dyslexia and dementia) Caters for people who are blind or have vision loss. Caters for people who are deaf or have hearing loss. Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids) Caters for people who use a wheelchair.
