Tracks Birding & Photography Tours specialise in finding rare and endemic birds around the Top End of the Northern Territory.
DAY 1 - Pick up from your accommodation in Darwin around 7 am and then head south towards Pine Creek we can stop at some of Darwin's many hot spots along the way for the morning before carrying on to Pine Creek for lunch and to book into our accommodation for the night. The afternoon is spent around Pine Creek tracking down the endemic Hooded Parrot and Partridge Pigeon.
DAY 2 - A nice early morning to head just south to target the many Finch species in the area including the spectacular Gouldian Finch. Lunch around the Edith Falls area before heading south to Katherine where we check into our accommodation and spend the rest of the day exploring Katherine and surrounds targeting birds the guests would like to see.
DAY 3 - We either drive south to try for the very rare Northern Crested Shrike-tit in a usually productive area or drive west to target Chestnut-backed Button-quail, Hooded Parrot and Gouldian Finch. The remainder of the day can be spent targeting anything we have missed.
Target Species - Black-breasted Buzzard, Wedge-tailed Eagle, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, Red-winged Parrot, Northern Rosella, Hooded Parrot, Black-tailed Treecreeper, Grey-crowned Babbler, Northern Crested Shrike-tit.
