Australian Wilderness Adventures is a tour company born from a desire by two of Australia's most experienced wilderness guides, Holger Strie and Richard Mayne, to take people into the wilds of our beautiful country, onto the paths less travelled and into the heart of the Australian wilderness.
The Jatbula Trail follows an ancient Jawoyn song line through the Nitmiluk National Park, taking you up onto the Arnhem Land Escarpment, through shady monsoon forests, past spectacular waterfalls and their crystal clear swimming pools and introduces you to stunning Jawoyn Aboriginal rock art sites. You camp in some of the most amazing wilderness country in Australia.
The Jatbula Trail is 58km from start to finish and is a full pack bushwalking adventure taking you far away from city life and immersing you into this ancient wonderland. The Jatbula is an exclusive destination opening only during the dry season from June to September, with a limit of 10 people per day permitted. Australian Wilderness Adventures operate their trips in June, July, and early August, the coolest and driest months - enjoying perfect blue sky days, cool nights and plenty of water for your afternoon swims.
