Parrtjima | Talks | Literature with Gravity with Melissa Lucashenko, Myra Ah Chee & Veronica Dobson

Hear from Melissa Lucashenko, Myra Ah Chee and Veronica Dobson as a part of the talks program at Parrtjima 2023.

There are so many stories, so many styles and so many writers to read. Come and hear fascinating snippets of the lives, stories and books of three amazing authors. Bundjalung woman Melissa Lucashenko, who is the winner of the 2019 Miles Franklin award for her novel, Too Much Lip, has developed characters that resonate with everyday social, cultural, and political worlds. Arrernte woman Veronica Perrule Dobson AM co-authored the Eastern and Central Arrernte to English dictionary, and Kanakiya Myra Ah Chee’s novel, Nomad Girl, is about a grieving father (his wife died when Myra was only eight) and a nomadic journey through the central Australian desert with a caravan of camels.

Entry to talks will be on a first-come, first-served basis so make sure you arrive early.
