From motherhood at 17 to world athlete and igniting the Olympic torch at Uluru, Nova Peris OAM has navigated many roadblocks. She’s walked on Muran country, her father’s West Arnhem (Land) homeland, run track and field on the international sports stage and walked the halls of the Australian Parliament House as a senator. Along with Nova’s latest passion, ensuring food sovereignty, her story links the many trails she has travelled, with her Gija, Yawuru and Muran combined bloodlines.
