• Oh Kata Tjuṯa, you're a photographer's dream 😍 To fully appreciate this natural wonder, you need to experience it from the air 🚁 The scale and size of #KataTjuṯa (The Olgas) is almost unbelievable as you glide over the 36 ochre-coloured domes, the highest of which stands 198 metres taller than #Uluṟu! @Professional_Helicopters and @ayersrockhelicopters offer daily aerial tours of many of @visitcentralaus' main attractions including Uluṟu, Mount Conner, Kings Canyon and Lake Amadeus. • Take the open road… to the unexpected in @visitcentralaus 🚗 It's difficult to describe the feeling that comes over you when you first lay eyes on Kata Tjuṯa (The Olgas). Equal parts ancient and imposing, these ochre-coloured rock domes are spread over more 20 square kilometres and soar up to 546 metres above the surrounding plain, almost 200 metres higher than Uluṟu. Choose from a number of walking trails that range from easy strolls to longer, more difficult tracks. Visit one of the viewing areas at sunrise or sunset and watch the domes glow and change colour with the surrounding desert landscape 🧡 Located about 40 kilometres from Uluṟu, ‘Kata Tjuta’ is a Pitjantjatjara term that means ‘many heads’. • A spectacular moonset (and sunrise!) at Kata Tjuta in @visitcentralaus 🌕 It might not be as instantly recognisable as Uluru, but Kata Tjuta is just as impressive as its famous neighbour. The 36 domes cover more than 20 square kilometres and soar up to 546 metres above the surrounding plain. ‘Kata Tjuta’ is a Pitjantjatjara term that means ‘many heads’. For the local Anangu, Kata Tjuta is an extremely important site for men’s business. Set your alarm and head to the Dune Viewing Area for stunning early morning views over the outback landscape, including Kata Tjuta and Uluru. Nature-lovers will want to experience the walking trailing at Walpa Gorge, a narrow creek valley between two of Kata Tjuta’s largest domes. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @caitensphoto. #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

  • Sleep in OR this incredible dawn view? We know which one we'd prefer! 🌄🙌 Take in the outback's spectacular sunrise colour palette of pinks and purples on the #KingsCanyon Rim Walk in @visitcentralaus. • Looking GOOD, #KingsCanyon! 👑 Only three hours from #Uluru in Watarrka National Park on the traditional lands of the Matutjara people, this spectacular location features 100 metre high ancient sandstone walls 🙌 What’s the best way to see it? The Rim Walk, of course! This challenging but rewarding 6 kilometre hike skirts the edge of the canyon for much of the trail, providing Insta-worthy views of the cliffs and surrounding landscape. The 3-4 hour walk deserves a comfortable place to rest your head...nearby @KingsCreekStation has you covered! Our tip? Start the walk early over the summer months and watch the sun rise over the canyon. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @selwyn_photography! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT @kingscanyon

  • It’s not every day you see a waterfall flowing at @seeuluru! 🌧😍 Lucky visitors to the region have been treated to waterfall events a few times over the past three months. While many travellers to the massive monolith come to witness the rich reds and bright oranges at sunrise and sunset, only a few get to witness the incredible colours and waterfalls that occur after heavy rainfall. • The burnt orange scenery of #Uluru sure puts the awe into awe-inspiring! This is the Mala walk to Kantju Gorge, a two kilometre (return) section of the Uluru base walk, which showcases the fascinating local Anangu culture, including ancient campsites and rock art. Our tip? The Mala walk is often busy with guided tours in the mid-morning and late afternoon. However, it is surprisingly quiet at sunset. If you’ve already seen an Uluru sunset from afar, head to Kantju Gorge for a deeply serene sunset experience at the foot of the rock. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, @postcardsandcoffee! #SeeAustralia #RedCentreNT

  • You look bloomin' beautiful, #KingCanyon! 🌷 While Spring only just officially kicked off today, it's actually possible to see #wildflowers in @visitcentralaus from April-November. Also known as Pussytails due to their recognisable flower heads, the Mulla Mullas (pictured here) are a group of flowering plants commonly found growing on rocky slopes, stony plains or sand dunes.
