Let someone else to the driving: travel the Northern Territory by bus and coach. Public buses will get you around town, coaches will do the long-haul, and guided tours will take you to all the Territory's top attractions.

Coach trips and tours

The Northern Territory is well serviced by major coach companies, so it's easy to travel between regional and urban centres on comfortable, air-conditioned coaches. Darwin and Alice Springs both have scheduled services connecting the cities with each other and with outer areas. If you're planning to do a lot of bus travel, hop-on, hop-off bus passes can be an economical option. Want to take in all the sights? There's an abundance of tour companies offering tours around the Northern Territory in coaches and on smaller buses.

Darwin's main coach terminal is the Transit Centre in Mitchell Street. All interstate coaches, many local coaches and tours depart and arrive here, as well as shuttles to the airport, the train station and to cruise-ship terminals. Check with visitor information centres and operators for details of routes, schedules, fares and tours.
