More information

The site consists of the former Pioneer Cash Store (known as the ‘Gallon License Store’) and associated outbuildings. The Store is constructed on the original track leading from the 1870’s Katherine River Crossing and is part of the original Katherine Town area. The store was one of four buildings erected at the site and the only remaining building. There are several mature Boab trees on site planted by Tom Pearce from seeds sourced from Bradshaw’s Run near Timber Creek. There is also a crate from a WWII bomb that landed near the Store.
