Community event held annually in Alice Springs, this project was developed for Alice Springs social and economic outcomes, and regional development.
The Yapa Styles Fashion Festival or (YSFF) has developed a positive and rewarding prevention program which aims to keep kids off the streets and educate them about substance abuse.
We aim to assist all participants by encouraging them to focus on Inner Strengths including Social/ Emotional Well-Being and positive Values.
Our Motto is "We Build Up, Not Tear Down"
Offering Aboriginal/ Non-Aboriginal youth in Alice Springs and outer regions opportunities to develop life skills and improve personal development, by focusing on building an appreciation of positive qualities, in one-self and others.
At The Yapa Styles Deportment and Etiquette School participants gain experience in runway modelling & styling, professional photo-shoots, experience in public speaking and performance.
To encourage self-confidence, and personal development we run workshops and pop-up fashion parades in collaboration with other community events.
Professional guest speakers from local services and the Arts industry host workshops and presentations.
Participants can get involved in any way they're comfortable with. Opportunities include back of house, assisting in catwalk training, media recording, photography, potentially creating pathways into employment as well.
